Four More Years--Of Liberal Votes

When the non-partisan National Journal rated John Kerry the most liberal Senator, Democrats rushed to deny the charge. Methinks "the lady doth protest too much"--simultaneously touting, and denying, their ideology. The Dems' mixed message handcuffed Kerry's campaign.

News flash: Kerry's still from the far left. The election lost, his campaign website now promotes a plea that President Bush fire Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld, "for the sake of the troops in Iraq." Worse, as Instapundit sagely observes, Kerry's wasted no time confirming his ranking in the new Congressional session:
I don't know about most liberal, but the fact is that of the Democrats on the Foreign Relations Committee, only John Kerry and Barbara Boxer voted against Condi Rice. And Kerry's embarrassing performance during the hearings certainly puts him in a class with Boxer.

I agree with Kos: He would have been an "unmitigated disaster" as President. I hope the Democrats do better in 2008, because it would be bad for the country -- and, ultimately, the Republicans -- if they became as marginalized as the Tories have in Britain. And performances like this make me wonder if that's not in the cards.
The Democrats walked out on America decades ago, says Anna Bryson in the Washington Post "Quote of the Day":
We were all Democrats until Jimmy Carter. And then we all left the party never to return.
If Democrats truly are pro-choice, I hope they step back from the cliff--after letting the Moonbats jump.
