It's not just corn; Canadian wheat stocks are down sharply on lower production over the last few years and higher exports. UK crops aren't doing well either. There is a about a 70 year cycle in the NH which bodes ill; in the 1860s the northern European famines caused massive emigration as crops failed in Canada and Finland, for example. That was two cycles ago. In the 1940s a similar pattern of bad harvests reappeared. It's that time again.
