January--A Very Good Month

Not only because Justice Alito's ascension "is the single biggest domestic victory to date for President Bush." Not solely due to tonight's worthy, if long, State of the Union address:
In a time of testing, we cannot find security by abandoning our commitments and retreating within our borders. If we were to leave these vicious attackers alone, they would not leave us alone. They would simply move the battlefield to our own shores.
It isn't just because Mama Moonbat Cindy Sheehan was arrested and removed from the gallery shortly before the SOTU started. And not merely for the President's bold and unapologetic justification for NSA warrantless wiretaps, as captured by Gay Patriot:
Bush is making a very strong defense of the NSA international phone call spying effort. He points out that two of the 9/11 hijackers made calls to their leaders and such an effort by the NSA would have picked up on that. (Hillary shakes her head and makes her I-need-to-chew-some-twigs-beaver-face.) I now observe she is chewing gum. What a class act from Hope, Arkansas.
On top of all that, and closer to home, I've been nominated as one of January's best political blogs by Bloggin' Outloud:

Given the tough competition -- including 7-8 sites I read daily -- my chances are poor.

Which doesn't mean I should lose. After all, my defense of warrantless wiretapping was equally bold, but added embedded hyperlinks! Not to mention going 15 rounds with a wild-eyed socialist. . .

So vote NOfP the best political blog in January by emailing BestSoFar@RightThinking.net between now and 11 pm (EST) February 4th. You're entitled to three votes if supporting NOfP. If not, one vote only; polls open in late February.

IMHO, the "Pet Blog" category is strictly optional.

That is classic about Hillary. I saw it, too. She is a disaster, and it hurts my eyes to focus on her for too long. But she does just screw up mightily. It is fun to watch.
