Sadly we need disasters like this to show people. Some people don't believe in climate warming -- like those who don't believe there was a Holocaust.Uh, there's a huge difference between denying the proven past and doubting the forecast future. Plus, only 18 months ago, lefties were outraged that Rush Limbaugh wanted Obama to fail. McCartney would kill the planet in order to save it.

His logic seems confused. For one thing, what do oil spills have to do with climate?
His belief that we can have solar power and wind power without oil transport is another example of too many drugs and too little logic intersecting in a frighteningly humorous manner.
MOM, same thought. Maybe it's the same reasoning that get's you to "I don't know why you say goodbye, I say hello."
The more critical issue would be why we would take the opinion of a talented musician on matters of a scientific and technical nature is rather self-evidently debatable.
Would you ask Bill Gates to tell us what music is best?
Or ask Carl how best to prepare a gourmet feast for twelve from "x and y" ingredients...?
There's a reason it's called expertise.
Paul's expertise in one area says nothing of his expertise in other areas of human endeavor.
And, by the way, that goes no matter the level of genius involved -- Einstein's comments on political, defense, and military policy were ludicrously naive and idealistic.
Being a mathematical and theoretical genius does not translate to expertise in human affairs.
