Although some critics say that his all-star cabinet might be difficult to manage, Obama is determined to pick the strongest, smartest people he can find, knowing that he is facing an economic crisis of historic proportions. As opposed to prior Presidents who sought dummies.

AS I've noted here and elsewhere -- given the need to pick an advisor, and the choice between the smartest person in the room, and the wisest person in the room, I'd go for the wisest, hands down, without hesitation.
And therein lies the problem. We already have an example of what the smartest bunch of advisors can do. It's called "The New Deal". Its legacy was an extended, decade-long recession and fundamentally flawed programs which have been at the heart of two economic crises in the last 30-odd years and another which is almost certain to be at the heart of the worst one yet -- a governmental Ponzi scheme called "Social Security"
We don't need more smart people making policy.
We need more *wise* people making policy.
My main problem is that the liberal illuminati has spouted the word "change" so long that in not bringing forth any sort of change from the get-go, you have to wonder what will actually, really be different than ever before.
Agreed as to both. And, as to e's point, I'm hoping little will turn out to be different at all.
