I've been reading a lot of XKCD. They're quirky, snarky, and, IMNSHO, pretty well done. I highly recommend you check it out when you feel like something apolitical (he might occassionally touch on politics, but it's pretty unusual).
Occasionally, you have to be a tech person to really get the joke, like one called "Little Bobby Tables" (it deals with some programming hacks which can totally and completely screw with a website if the webprogrammer doesn't protect against them -- but the joke is delicious if you really understand it).
But most of them need no more understanding of the net than this one Carl picked out does.
If you don't get it, don't worry (or, if you feel adventuresome, look up a word or term on wiki. Sometimes the explanation is there -- one suggestion: "X girls Y cups": Don't look into that one unless you're prepared to be really, really disgusted. It's the only one like that I've seen, but... fair warning).
I had to get a 24-year-old in the lab to explain X-girls, Y-cups. Fortunately, he warned me and I stayed away. People, these warnings aren't teasers; to understand the cartoon you just need to know that there's a disgusting youtube movie called 2 girls 1 cup; the color scheme of the cartoon reflects both the bad taste and innumeracy of netizens.

I love this strip. My favorite is embodied on this T-shirt, which surprisingly is something of a chick magnet.
