QOTD

UPDATE: below

Then-Senator John Edwards in early 1999 during the Clinton impeachment inquiry:
I think this President has shown a remarkable disrespect for his office, for the moral dimensions of leadership, for his friends, for his wife, for his precious daughter. It is breathtaking to me the level to which that disrespect has risen.
MORE:

Ruth Marcus in Tuesday's Washington Post:
You don't have to be an Edwards-caliber trial lawyer to know the right questions to ask on cross-examination here: If you lied then, why should anyone believe you now?

He'll be happy to take a paternity test but, conveniently, now she won't? She's getting $15,000 a month from his top moneyman but he doesn't know about it? A picture with the baby -- who can remember?

Elizabeth Edwards, mercifully, didn't stand -- or sit -- by her man during the "Nightline" interview. This was a good thing. Was there a wife in America who didn't want to slap him right across his smug face when he pointed out, "first of all," that his wife's cancer was in remission when he cheated?

The man's political career is over.

Yes, his own words about another man's similar actions are an appropriate reprimand...for his wife and family to express.

No matter how richly the self-righteous prick deserves it...There's no need to kick a man when he's down.

May all of you people who are morally superior to Edwards please stand up over in that corner of the room. Thanks. Your honesty is appreciated.

Given Edwards previous comments, what side of the room should he stand on?

Was he for moral superiority before he was against it?
What about you Anon?

How many libs have attacked Newt, always mentioning the rumor that he served his wife with divorce papers while in the hospital?
Oh that's right, liberals ARE morally superior therefore any character flaws are to be overlooked and excused....how could I have forgotten.

Two words: "Mark Foley".

If the left can (correctly) call out the GOP for the admitted hypocrisy represented by someone like Foley sexually harassing his pages, I think it is just as appropriate to hoist the left on their own petards.

It seems to me that the real question is:
"Why did anyone believe him in the first place?"

Why the hell are they the "blue" states, anyway? THEY are the ones who are 90% Socialist.

THEY should be the "red" states.

Like, DUH.

I'd like to see the list of politicians who are not hypocrites.

When truth is consistently employed by politicians, our system will work efficiently and effectively. I wonder when that will happen.
