QOTD

From the April 17th Washington Post:
The District has the fourth-highest incarceration rate in the nation, according to a report that says jails nationwide are bursting at the seams even though crime is nearly as low as it has been in 30 years.
Why do lefties continue to confuse "despite" and "because," especially regarding crime statistics?

Why? Why? Is this a quiz or is this a rhetorical question?

The causes of crime have to be root causes, and only solutions which address crime from that perspective are allowed. Actual crime statistics mean zip.

Fortunately, there are enough honest liberals outside of journalism and the social sciences that the truth does leak out.
