An anti-Bush demonstration in San Francisco ended with the arrest of 10 people, including one who was found carrying several Molotov cocktails after such a device was thrown at The San Francisco Chronicle building on Wednesday, police said.

And in Los Angeles:
An anti-administration group staged rallies in Westwood and throughout the country Wednesday to protest issues ranging from President Bush's stance on the Iraq war to his delayed response to Hurricane Katrina.Nearly 10 million people live in Los Angeles county; 1,200 protesters represent 0.0121 percent of Angelenos. The stupidest 0.0121 percent, says Brainster: those who "don't know how to make the peace sign."
The Westwood rally attracted an estimated 1,200 protesters, including some who walked out of work and school to join in. The nighttime protest clogged traffic in parts of the Westside for hours.

Who says the French don't inspire anymore?
Uh, protesting the delayed response to Hurricane Katrina - isn't this a bit of a delayed protest?? Or were they just in a hurry to get one off, because they had to quick, fly down with Cindy to Argentina in time for this week's Other Big Bush Protest. With SFO conveniently located they could catch their flight. Sheesh.
Hmmm. Do they mean "Impeach Bush" or ... "Hook 'em Horns" ...
A deep mystery for a Texan to ponder ...
PS. I tracked you and Brainster for the photo! It's great.
Though Austin is "a liberal bastion in conservative Texas," Bush and his family are big University of Texas fans. But I presume Angelinos cheer SC, not UT. And the demonstrators can't be summoning a Satan they don't acknowledge.
My guess: the anti-Bush bunch actually is an inner-city gang, complete with its own swear signs, shirts and shared symbols.

> "What We Have Here Is a Failure to Communicate"

Annnk. Trivial misquote, but it's:
"What We Have Here Is Failure to Communicate"
---------------------^-----------------------
A trivial error and one people *constantly* make, but, hey, IMNSHO, a quote from a movie should be -exact-.
:-D
useless non-mono text shifted the pointer i made.
