Republican Love Is the Root of All Evil

The inmates at Democratic Underground are debating the wisdom of "bringing children into this world." This being DU, most posters are pessimists, such as TheBorealAvenger:
A decade and a half of guilt, manipulation, and assaults. I could not wait to be an adult. Yeah, there were moments of joy, but it was hardly a Norman Rockwell experience. I am glad I don't live in a farm economy or a conservative culture where children are required.

I just don't want to see anything like that again, especially experienced by someone I cared for.
The best is a whiner called sweetheart, who sounds like a nom de post for Howard Dean:
Kids are an economic burden of profound proportions that the republicans use to enslave people by making the parents run so hard on the wheel to cover the economics of kids that nothing is left.
In other words, Generation Y "slackers" are too self-centered to have childeren, for which they blame Republicans. Still, I encourage this attitude among lefties. After all, as Justice Holmes said in a more noxious context, "Three generations of imbeciles are enough."

Did you take a shower after you left that hell hole? These people are complete nuts!

I have an interview with a former ACLU lawyer at my site that I would like for you to see when you get a chance.

A decade and a half of guilt, manipulation, and assaults. What a miserable childhood that guy had, didn't s/he learn any self-defense along the way??

I'm completely and happily awed by the idea of children being a Republican plot to control people. Just awed.

Off to BlameBush.

Perhaps Republicans will increase their lead if the Dems breed themselves out, as WSJ suggests. In any case, I'm glad they aren't reproducing.

Which of your many sites?

Best of the Web's James Taranto argues a "Roe Effect" to explain increased conservatism among young voters. However, his data show only a low correlation (R squared about 0.5) between abortion and the margin in Republican wins.
