Do What Judges Pronounce, Not What the Bill of Rights Says

Ian Hamet brilliantly formalizes an argument I've made before: if gun control nuts interpreted the Second Amendment as they do the rest of the bill of rights, there'd be no Miranda warnings, privacy or epidemic of overturning state marriage laws.

Hypocrites.

False equivalence. "Militia" had a defined membership. "Intelligentisa" does not. The collective/individual divide turns upon precisely that distinction.

Don't fall into the sort of logical fallicies routinely employed by the other side.

Not if the first clause is merely examplatory. And, even if true, don't get hypertechnical yourself: If liberals read all Amendments as they do the Second, there would be no exclusionary rule, Miranda warnings, etc.
