Breaking News!

In Google's latest press release:
Google Inc. today announced it is testing a preview release of Gmail – a free search-based webmail service with a storage capacity of up to eight billion bits of information, the equivalent of 500,000 pages of email. Per user.
Even the NY Times is impressed:
Google will offer consumers better access to searching their own e-mail and could well upset the industry balance by offering free access to services that previously were only available by paying a monthly subscription fee.
Google's announcement is dated today, April 1, 2004.

All the news that's fit to print--and more. I guess the Times still is your father's Oldsmobile. (via Instapundit.)
