Gaza's ruling Islamist movement Hamas has resisted suggestions that Palestinian children should be taught about the Holocaust in UN-run schools.Indeed, Hamas spiritual leader Younis al-Astal "called teaching Palestinian children about the Nazi murder of 6 million Jews a 'war crime.'" Confirming that familiarity breeds contempt.
The head of its education committee in Gaza, Abdul Rahman el-Jamal, told the BBC that the Holocaust was a "big lie".
He said that to teach it would be to "grant a big favour" to Israel, which has been fighting Hamas for years.
The UN, which runs most Gazan schools, recently asked local groups whether the Holocaust should be taught.

Islamists believe in teaching hatred of nonIslamists. The Koran is specific about cutting off the heads of "infidels." Islam's hostility to all other religions and all people who think for themselves and freely choose their own beliefs is expressed clearly in the Koran and in the actions of living Islamic murderers and terrorists. Islam is slavery. Islam teaches lying and hatred to young impressionable children. We all know what this leads to, e.g., the Holocaust. Stop Islam. Islam destroys happiness, freedom and life for all people who choose to think for themselves. May anti-Jewish propaganda stop now!
