Continuing Watch: the Obamessiah

Barack Obama, from Tuesday night's "victory speech":
I am absolutely certain that generations from now, we will be able to look back and tell our children that this was the moment when we began to provide care for the sick and good jobs to the jobless.

This was the moment when the rise of the oceans began to slow and our planet began to heal; this was the moment when we ended a war and secured our nation and restored our image as the last, best hope on Earth.

Obamania will be ending real soon as the GE heats up. McCain will be respectful but the gaping holes in Obama's resume are going to start spinning into a vortex of uncontrollable doom for the Dem's. At least that's what I hope :)

I wish I could agree.

McCain loses if he tries to make the case that he would be the better President. It’s irrelevent that he in fact would make the better President.

McCain only wins if the credibility of Obama’s judgement is largely suspect, not among conservatives but with independents and Reagan democrats.

Obama’s weakness is not his inexperience, because he’s selling that as an asset. It's his claim of possessing exceptional judgement wherein his weakness lies.

This claim is directly contradicted by his associations BUT this is circumstantial evidence.

People inclined to give him the benefit of the doubt need to see undeniable evidence.

You know, the thing that I notice the most is the racism of the Liberals in thinking this is somehow *important*.

From MRC:
The ABC, CBS and NBC evening newscasts all led Wednesday night with celebratory interviews with Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama -- with ABC and NBC plastering "MAKING HISTORY" on screen.
. and
On CBS, Katie Couric was so giddy she couldn't complete her question: "Did you ever think you'd see this day? I mean, are you still just completely-"

Funny. I thought it was fairly obvious that a black man could be nominated for president. I never considered it otherwise.

Who's the racist, then?

The one who actually imagines that it's next to impossible, some massive, incredible achievement, or the one who takes it as a matter of course?

Which one is truly, from the pit of his heart, evaluating the candidates, "by his character, not by the color of his skin"?

Who, indeed?

What we are fighting against is the feeling that people have that wanting this utopia means that they are somehow better people. It feels good to be a believer, and it costs you nothing.

Nothing right now, anyway.

The reference to the Messiah is genius, but scary. Not actually intending to be sacrilegious, I might as well add my modification of the miracle healing of a woman described in Luke 8:43-48:

A country that had a flow of blood for eight years, that had spent all its money and resources on wars in other parts of the world that could not be healed by any, came behind him, and touched the fringe of his suit, and immediately the flow of blood stopped.

Obama said, Who touched me? When all denied it, Hillary and those with her said, Master, the multitudes press and jostle you, and you say, ‘Who touched me? But Obama said, Someone did touch me, for I perceived that power has gone out of me.

When the country saw that it was not hidden, it came trembling, and falling down before him declared to him in the presence of all the people the reason why it had touched him, and how it was healed immediately. He said to it, Cheer up. Your faith has made you well. Now go vote for me in November.

Obama is toast. He's alreay made one massive blunder over something that a schoolchild could probably spot as being significant -- Wright and that lunatic church he's a member of.

Obamarama is going to screw up at least two more times before November, probably more.

He's a cotton candy candidate, and sooner or later, it's gonna rain.

How smart is it to communicate with the President of Iran when the President of Iran says the Holocaust never happened? What does Obama think he will achieve? I wonder where the true sentiments of Obama are. It's not clear since he was enthusiastic about Wright before Wright was exposed.
