President Bush will announce his choice to fill Justice O'Connor's Supreme Court seat at 9pm tonight; the odds favor the Ediths -- Jones or Clement -- both currently on the Fifth Circuit. Either would be an acceptable, but hardly ideal, selection.
My proposal: nominate Clarence Thomas. Sure, he's already on the Court. But he's so good, I'd give him two votes.
