Played hooky this afternoon for my first look at the new home team. The rain began in the bottom of the first, lasting until minutes after the game ended. The ex-Expos -- excuse me, Washington Nationals -- held the Braves and John Smoltz scoreless until the 9th. Then, with Atlanta down to their final out, shortstop Cristian Guzman bounced the throw to first, letting two runs in on the error. With the loss, the Nats dropped a half game out of first in the NL East, with the division-leading Marlins facing Pedro Martinez and the Mets tonight.
One hundred forty-six to go.
