Irina Tsukerman, blog-host of The IgNoble Experiment, lists a blogger's responsibility to "his/her" audience. Here's number 5:

To practice intellectual honesty: By remaining open-minded, listening to other points of views, reevaluating one's own position, arguing one's real position or perhaps playing the devil's advocate, but avoiding hypocrisy and flattery. And of course, admitting one's mistakes.
